Film Cameras: Nikon FM2, Mamiya 645, Noblex Panoramic

Digital Cameras: Nikon D80, Nikon D300, Nikon D700
Thank you for visiting my site. Photography has been a serious interest of mine for many years. I started wtih the Kodak instamatic film cameras - the ones with the drop in cassettes. Remember those cameras? My parents gave it to me for Christmas when I was in junior high. I was very happy when I received it and I took many photos with it. I thought it was the best camera in the world for many years. I am thankful that Mom and Dad gave me that gift. Eventually I moved to 35 mm and then to medium format. Each time I stepped up, I was very pleased with the improvement in image quality and what I could do with each camera. I continued taking photos with various film cameras until 2008 when I bought my first digital camera. I still love the look that film gives to a photo - and I am going to keep my old dinosaur film cameras - but I must admit that I am now "hooked" on what digital can do. The speed and ease the digital cameras make in bringing the image to life is amazing. The digital camera has changed everything. My favorite cameras are the Nikon series cameras and the Noblex panoramic camera. I wonder what type of camera will be introduced next?

Your images display a great deal of sensitivity toward the subjects you photograph. From my experience, some of them may be relevant to magazine market as well. Have you ever thought about that? Fortunately, you do not have to invest a lot of money. The first photo I sold was taken by a 4Mp Nikon Coolpix. What you really need to do is to find an appropriate magazine for your images. There are a few really good books and websites on the subject if you go looking. My suggestion is to check one of them - http://www.freelance-market.net - and try a couple magazines until you find out what can really work for you. And certainly don't be discouraged if your images are rejected or not used. After all, it’s fun!

Charles,
wonderful landscapes. I also like those panoramic football images. They are somewhat different from the usual sports shots. Keep up the good work.
